Self Defined
Self Defined – Defined by each vendor
1. Defined one bit (byte) to show the status of circulation (Issued or not)。
2. Different vendor has different definition, so it is easy to conflict at other libraries。
3. Library is limited option to find another supplier.
4. There are some vendor do encryption on accession number on UHF memory, so no
other vendor can read the accession number。 So library has only unique supplier.
White List
Check the accession number is issued or not. (Option B)
1. Benefit is that it is easy to let patron do the self check out using barcode only .
2. Read the accession number and check with database to decide alarm or not .
3. Every circulation transaction need to notify the server about the status of books.
4. Library will be limited to original supplier to do further development and modifica-
tion. And it is bind to ILS or RFID server.
5. In case change ILS, then every thing need to start over again.
